Whenever I install new software I ALWAYS take an image since if I'm not pleased with the software I restore my backup image. Why I did this is I use an imaging program to back up my hard drive frequently, the smaller the size, the faster the backup and restore. I have gutted XP to the bare minimum and the size is only 2.5 MB with everything I need. I personally don't have Net Framework installed since I try to minimize the size of my C: Drive. Microsoft will stop support for XP on April 8, 2014. I use XP SP3,I have tried Window 7 and immensely dislike it. I am a stickler for clutter on my operating system. I still have decided if I should be blaming Microsoft for this or the individual software folks who use.
